Li-Fi (short for Light Fidelity) is a wireless communication technology that uses visible light to transmit data instead of radio waves used by Wi-Fi. The technology uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to send data through light waves, which are received by a photodiode receiver and then converted into an electrical signal.
The main advantage of Li-Fi is its ability to transmit data at much higher speeds than traditional Wi-Fi. Li-Fi can achieve data transfer rates of up to several gigabits per second, compared to Wi-Fi which typically offers speeds of a few hundred megabits per second.
However, Li-Fi has some limitations. One of the biggest drawbacks is that it requires a direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver, as the signal cannot pass through solid objects.
Additionally, the technology is still in the early stages of development and implementation, and it may take some time before it becomes widely available and compatible with existing devices.
